Medical Teams visit the Villages and HOH

Medical teams from the US and from Cebu were able to minister along side the CRC staff  to several hundred people in Biao and Guihing.   General clinics along with services with a US OB/GYN were provided.   Medicines and vitamins were dispensed.    We appreciate both teams coming to Digos to provide these services.  Thanks especially to Dr. Karen, Becky, Jessica, Tim and Kathy for taking  time out of your very busy and profitable schedules to work here among the very poor.    We greatly appreciate God's provision of medicines and of the vitamins which are not availalble due to cost to these people.     Thanks also to the 16 volunteers from Cedu who traveling many hours to also serve the villagers.    We also appreciate your care and concern for the HOH and CRC staffs and the kids.

Many Donations Received and Arriving in the Philippines

We really look forward to receiving items gathered by individuals and churches in the US for HOH and the villages.   We have received already some of the BB boxes full of clothing, books, vitamins, shoes and even VBS materials.   More are on their way!  Praise God.  Below is a picture of Abdul reading some of the new books that came from a church in Tennessee.

We appreciate the many donors who have given in the past three months especially the Sierra Bible Church in Sonora, CA, the Cohasset Neighborhood Church in Cohasset, CA, the Dayton Family Church in Dayton, TN, the Modesto Covenant Church in Modesto, CA, the Bridge Covenant Church in Riverbank, CA and many, many individuals from CA, WA, FL, TN who have collected items as well.  We greatly appreciate these donations.   Thanks also to the Church of Hope in Southern California for their faithful financial support.

The quilting ladies from Calvary Lutheran Church in Modesto also made 24 more quilts that are on the way to the Philippines.   We are so excited to be receiving more of these quilts as they have become part of the regular bedding for the kids, especially when it is hot and they sleep directly on the floor.

We were also blessed by the Gustine Rotary Club with donations of funds for vitamins.    Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

God Answers Prayers for Funds For Guihing

Many people have been on their knees about the funding situation in Guihing.  Praise God that we now have many new prayer and financial partners for this ministry.   We have been able to keep a small pre-school program going as well as the other activities of the rapidly growing Guihing Church.

God is really working in this village and we are so excited and encouraged that so many people have an interest in this ministry.  The young people in the village are on fire for God!   We have seen so many lives transformed and are so grateful for God's faithfulness in providing the needed funds.

We especially appreciate the recent support from Simi Valley Covenant Church, the Bengson Family in Ripon, CA, the Cole Family and Harless families in Modesto, CA and the Hegg family in Turlock, CA.

We also are grateful to David and Linda Cowles for their recent donation for materials for the new fence around the church property.  The young people and other volunteers have completed this project and it is such a blessing.  Below is Pastora Lazel standing inside of the new fence.

Haven of Hope Orphanage (HOH) is a faith-based, non-profit, non-governmental, organization dedicated to change the lives of the orphaned, neglected and abandoned children in impoverished Muslim and tribal villages in Southern Philippines.  HOH does this  by providing children a permanent home where they can grow and mature in their faith and become useful and productive citizens of our society.

HOH is registered with, and licensed by the Office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region XI, with license #: XI-2006-06. We are not licensed at this time for international adoptions.

Our facility now has 18 children ages 3 -18,  many of whom are trying hard to catch up on their education. It is located in Digos, a small city, 54 KM from Davao City on the island of Mindanao. )

Other villages ministries are also happening through a Non-Governmental Agency (NGO) called the Community Resource Center (CRC).  CRC provides pre-schools, feeding programs for children, clothing, literacy training and livelihood projects for impoverished villages.
